Morning has Broken ~>~>~>~>~> Stone Sojourners

Under the eaves of these ancient stones
I lay beneath my dusky pink quilt,
boys beside me sleeping,
resembling mirror image bookends.

To my rear,
the other-side of my stone backrest
I hear a stirring, a chattering,
this has been going on for months.....
.. these stones of old support life,
both inside and out.

Soon colder September days will settle in,
yesterday morning I noticed a glistening on the pan-tiles,
a sure sign new life will be looking for warmth
between the stones, the dormouse and the stoat.
Sometimes I can hear them getting comfy in the still of night.

Meanwhile the house-martins who have
almost been my bed partners, these last weeks,
just a couple of 'punch faced' stones away
are making plans to vacate,
leaving the safety of these ancient eaves,
finding their way to distant shores, a 'foreboding journey' I feel!
But these little sojourners have big brave hearts,
that beat without falter.

September evening air becomes a spectacular show of
new life energy rising and falling, the martins love this new year's added feature,
their very own diving pond just metres away.

The air of hush is looming and my love will soon proclaim 'they've gone',
I know my heart will sink a little, as a mother's heart sinks
when her child makes way, their first steps to school, university, new home.
I do take heed though knowing they will always remember
the protection in the eaves of these ancient stones,
and as the saying goes 'they'll be back!

Thank you for a peek into your world and the awareness you bring to these lovely "housemates" signaling the change of season... It sounds magical :) Like Snow White with her "2" dwarfs in the woods where all the animals come for safe keeping... I have a lovely imagination, don't you think ;)

my darling one,

you slay me with your beauty today. each and every word a stone of protection for all brave hearts. "take heed though knowing they will always remember the protection in the eaves of these ancient stones"
how your love too is the song in the ancient stones and will continue singing for all time...

thank you for residing in my heart forever and always.

I do feel sadness when one season comes to an end...I'm sure you take comfort in the fact that these creatures will return...

as always your images add so much to beautiful quality of your words.

It's the peeking into the cracks that we find such great treasures.

Continuum

A Continuum ~> continual sequence of ~> elemental change ~> By far this is the most difficult post written by myself, ever. I have not visited this place for sometime... I have been 'lying low' as an old friend used to put it, not low through depression or anything like that but since my love passed away parts of my known world have passed too. I have difficulty recognizing the landscape around me, I'm lying low so that I can absorb some of the new terrain. I am still quite dizzy, it's going to take some time... Much of what I wrote about here in this space would involve a brief glimpse of 'my love' and our life together. I had thought of closing 'Finding my Bliss', for a pivotal part of everything this blog has stood for seemed on the surface of things to be missing! But as the days have come and gone I am beginning to look at things in a different light and although I am grieving for my love I find I am l feeling his prese

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
