Haiku my Heart #14 ~ Remembering Hilda May

Dearest Hilda May,
resting on sons' strong shoulders,
always held in love.

It was a sad, but also a very tender and beautiful day
when Hilda was carried to rest
on the shoulders of the menfolk in her life.
It was fitting,
after all, they had been her life ~
her husband Ernie who had gone before,
her two sons, and two grandsons,
and of course us, her wider family.

As one final act of love and respect,
we slowly and reverently
visited Hilda's beloved 'Sun Street',
the street she grew up in,
the street she played in as a child,
and
the place she reminisced about in later years.

Such a touching, final rendezvous,
imagining
Hilda Happy on Sun Street.

In honour of...

What a splendid tribute to what seems a lovely lady who left a happy life. Mixed feelings for you on the day I shouldn't wonder.

Dear Ms. Foxy... A tribute so fine, one would only dream that people think this way when it's our own time to cross. Beautiful, and Hilda May is beautiful as well. Good vibrations sent to those left behind.

Peace.

She was blessed to have some one like you in her life. That is so amazing to visit her sunset. I would love to be remembered and honored in such a beautiful way. And thank you for sharing this special person with us today.
Big hug and lots of love sent you way.
Dearest Sue,
Thank you for sharing these beautifully warm and intimate family memories with us. Hilda May looks as lovely on her wedding day as Lady Di ever did. She is adorned with a crown of flowers, the queen of her household, supported by the men of her court and clearly she had a deeply significant place in the hearts of both her family and her extended family. How blessed she is to be honored and loved so by you on this day. This is a beautiful post.
Love always,
Noelle

You received so many comments about Hilda May - I wish I'd have known her. I'm glad you did and that you travelled so far to send her off and acknowledged her influence on you with with a fitting tribute. I like to think that somewhere, somehow; she'll smile at all that has been said, done and written about her.

Love C xxx

A Heady Afternoon

Navigating Home

Well here I am again!  Wonder of wonders that I am even showing up at all in this little blog wilderness having uprooted my faithful old friend Finding my Bliss by way of messing up the template!  The one who safely sailed me through Bloglandia for all of those years was interfered with in an abrupt manner (see previous post).   I know it may sound silly but I feel like I am grieving for what was my sanctuary and residence, I am feeling kind of lost with nothing familiar to cling to, but alas I do have one place that is very much like home and so there I will share a little haiku with my friends... By way of haiku navigate a place called home the 'heart' gathering... On the subject of home and the insecurity of having no solid ground to tread on, that's where I am finding myself at present as I'm in the throws of purchasing a new home and going through a very sticky patch with the legalities of it all.  It's going at a snail's pace and I'
