My Very Happy Friday

I've had such a 'me' week this week, it's been all about 'me', in-fact I've spent the entire week on a 'me-retreat'. I'm having this retreat because I'm house sitting for someone, away from my own place!  It's been a real oasis, for I've escaped all the usual run-up banter to the Football World Cup that goes on in my house!  I've escaped to a very tranquil and peaceful space just right for contemplation!

So what have I been contemplating?   For one thing my blog, you might have detected this from the new blog template I applied!  I'm going to add a new banner when I get home to my own workspace.  The thing is I'm fairly new to the blogging thing as you may be aware!  But I've been reading and digesting a wonderful book on this subject by Tara Frey - Blogging for Bliss, very informative and helpful, beautifully illustrated, and with a friendly touch that seems to be the hallmark of creative bloggers.

Now I'm beginning to get the hang of things I realise that I have made a number of boobs!  When I look back on my previous posts in my new template they could do with a little editing, but what the heck - I'm not going to!  I'm just going to leave them there as a  reminder - life is a learning experience!  We don't have to be perfect first time, or second, or third ........?

Oh, just one other thing that's added to my Happy Friday, Iv'e been feeling such a sense of connection to the world, although I'm not a footy fan, I just had to watch the opening ceremony of the World Cup in South Africa on TV, I have an affinity with South Africa and seeing this spectacle was really moving.  My sister lived in this beautiful county for twenty years through their troubles and turmoil, so to witness the uniting spirit of sport was very emotional!  Added to this my darling daughter is flying to New York as I post for a 'fun in the city' holiday of a lifetime, and would you believe England v USA is scheduled for Saturday!  So there's another connection with some of you dear bloggers!

I'm going to be house sitting for someone in NYC this summer. I can't wait to leave my cozy rural life for some big city action. There is something about getting away, isn't there? About escaping your own life to live someone else's...but just for awhile. Enjoy and Happy Friday!

Continuum

A Continuum ~> continual sequence of ~> elemental change ~> By far this is the most difficult post written by myself, ever. I have not visited this place for sometime... I have been 'lying low' as an old friend used to put it, not low through depression or anything like that but since my love passed away parts of my known world have passed too. I have difficulty recognizing the landscape around me, I'm lying low so that I can absorb some of the new terrain. I am still quite dizzy, it's going to take some time... Much of what I wrote about here in this space would involve a brief glimpse of 'my love' and our life together. I had thought of closing 'Finding my Bliss', for a pivotal part of everything this blog has stood for seemed on the surface of things to be missing! But as the days have come and gone I am beginning to look at things in a different light and although I am grieving for my love I find I am l feeling his prese

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
