Frayed

Our boy Dougal Dog
has had three operations on his one eye this past week!
Poor boy we feel so sorry for him, we have to apply drops five times a day too!

Somehow he managed to rub the first stitches loose despite this huge collar! A different vet applied new stitches under sedation, they pulled through the third eyelid this time despite our vigilant watch! Could have been a faulty technique so they haven't charged for the third op. Yesterday he had more surgery, we now take it in turn for Dougal Duty, we have to be aware of his every move, a moment ago I turned my back for one second and he somehow got his back paw inside this cone, I feel sick every-time I check his eye in-case it happens again, my nerves are raw!

We are also on flood watch here, we had the furniture off of the floor last night on the table top,
we spent the whole evening checking the stream levels.

My girl continues to make progress with her own health issues but because we are all here confined with these continual crises, we rub shoulders with each other and sometimes there's a chaffing.

At the moment life seems pants, sucks whichever way I view it!
There I got it off my chest!!!

However, I don't want to leave you on a sour note,
that would never do, they say in the dark there is always "a crack for the light to enter" ~ Cohen

So here's my crack,
my light,
 my escape route,
not the wine of-course the camera,
all the same a little drop does help with frayed nerves!

peace to you Sue

love and light
Oh my goodness! Poor dog. Poor you! I remember having to take care of our elderly sick cat (19 years old), hand feeding him baby food every two hours through the night - and day... I was frazzled most of the time, not knowing what to do for the poor thing. I hope you all survive your ordeal. It is hard taking care of a pet, *and* have all this other chaos going on in your life at the same time!

Oh go ahead, have the whole glass! :) lol...

poor dougal, 3 ops no less!

it must be so stressful, and tiring, to be on constant flood watch. moving furniture, etc. concerned for your nest.

may you guys stay dry - flood, not wine ;)

Morning has Broken

Yesterday the black dog came to visit me, the same black dog who  used to visit Winston Churchill. When my daughter came around, she could  see the black dog had turned up too and  that I was completely at his mercy. She made her leave with a simple kiss and goodbye,  "hope he goes soon", I nodded in agreement. For when he's around he completely  demands my attention and there's no shaking him loose! On retiring I sternly told the black dog I didn't understand the reason for his visit and that I thought I had sat with him for long enough  and to be gone in the morning! *** I've not seen him so far, this morning thank goodness !!! It is the beginning of a brand new day,  I am grateful for each day of my life...   I was at a funeral on Friday,  to say we'd anticipated a sad day all turned out most beautifully.... my favourite hymn was sung 'Morning has Broken' On this brand new day I'm sitting here tapping the k...

What to Do?

Jamie Ridler asks in Wishcasting Wednesday - How would you like to spend some time? Good question for me at this time of year as I usually embark on some course or other for the winter months ahead, and as usual I'm not sure?  I go through  familiar questions, what do I really love and would like to spend time pursuing?  I've got qualifications in Fine Art and my heart is in photography, graphics, printmaking etc. But I'm torn because I'm also interested in Personal Development and have a yearning to share what I've learned so far with others in some way, especially on-line?  So what do I do? How do  I spend some time doing what I want to do, don't know, not sure but one thing I do know is that I need to spend more time puzzling it out? Or will it just come to me?  Do I spend more time meditating upon these ideas??? For other wishcaster wishes visit Jamie Ridler Studios
