Comment to Kathryn ~

This post has arrested my attention:  This image would serve as a beautiful tribute for the recent disaster.   When I look at the image I see the global turmoil, the swirling of it all, in our minds too, and the helpless situation we all feel towards the Japanese. The beautiful flower offering is yours and ours to give showing our shared caring.  I have never studied Ikebana, but these images are very poignant today!
Kathryn - Collage Diva Yes, I learned of the tsunami after posting this arrangement and I was stunned. This arrangement as you have pointed out is a beautiful tribute to a culture that I admire so much. The water in this style of arrangement is very important. Hmmmm. Man must never forget how powerful nature is. We are visitors and stewards on this planet. Each ikebana arrangement tells the story of the circle of life. Each element: branch and flower speaks of our relationships. On a personal note, I have a budding friendship and there are many blossoms on this branch waiting to open in time. The yellow flower represents my golden center where my love pours through. This is my own personal reflection. Looking at it from a more global perspective, we can see how the metaphors can be applied. Each arrangement offers a beautiful object for reflection.

Thank you for stopping by today and sharing your reaction to my flower arrangement. I look forward to working with the flowers each week and sharing this amazing practice with others.

Hi Sue~ I am amazed at how you found such a genuine way to reach out to the grieving/suffering/lost people of Japan as ikebana is a Japanese art form. Kathryn must be a very intuitive person as she anticipated the tsunami in this arrangement made the day before. So beautiful and meaningful. Love

Joining you in prayer and remembrance. Every thought is a prayer.
Dearest Sue,
Thank you so much for posting this beautiful arrangement that is so metaphorically representative of the fragility of the Japanese people at this time, their beauty and their tragic circumstances. It is deeply meaningful.
xoxo,
Noelle

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
