Encounters with Mary

My first encounter with Mary was quite a while ago now,
I must have been about five or six years old at the time,
it was in the little country church of my home
where my ancestors lay in the grounds outside.

I don't remember all of the details
but what I do remember vividly was the
feeling I had when I saw the angels with their
incredible wings, I so wanted a pair of those wings, I wanted to fly!

Instead they wrapped a blue cloth around my head and stood me next to Donald Burton!
I think, but am not sure, that I had learnt some words to say to Donald!
The thing I was most sure about though was the feeling I had
when they took the baby doll off of me! At the time I couldn't have cared less
about the 'Starring Role' I was chosen to perform at All Saint's Church nave,
before my parents, teachers, vicar and community,
but the indignity of being given a baby doll then taking it off of me was too much,
let alone not being adorned with those illustrious wings like the other girls!!

Eight or so years later came my second encounter with Mary,
the sweetest, most loving friend of my youth, she actually introduced me
to my husband, she had a cheeky smile and the most persuasive personality,
insisting my love take me for a ride on his motorbike,
he was reluctant at the time being six years older than me, I being just a school kid!

I have a lot to thank my sweet Mary for!

Since those days I have encountered many Mary-like figures in my life but none more so
than the women who shine here on-line, each one sparkling like sequins in Mary's exquisite veil,
promoting peace and love through their creativity and interactions with oneanother!
I can't lay claim to any special spiritual visions from the realms beyond with Mary,
but I don't feel I need to because I sense her spirit in most convincing ways
every time I connect with you all here!
You are all my Mary encounters!

Happy Day 12 of Mornings with Mary!

Brought to us through our beautiful Rebecca, thank you.

I love your story -- and yes, we encounter the gentleness and loving spirit of Mary in the loving hearts of others, if only we're aware. I'm happy to have been able to reflect your loving presence back to you during this journey.

I love the imagery here. It is so like a finger drawing on a window covered in condensation and exploding with reflected light. It is a charming way to end our 12 days together. I'm so happy to have shared them with you.

i have always held in my imagination Mary's veil covered in stars shining like diamonds, perhaps my girlie just likes bling but my image is softer, more heartfelt, takes ones breath away.. your description is the image i have had since i was a young girl.. thank you for your posts along this pilgrimage, lovely!

dear sweet sue,
you placed my in ancient church yard the kind that hold the remains of ones ancestors in the soft mounds of recognition that ties us all to gravity and the weight of this life. then suddenly the possibility of wings. we have spoke of our flying dreams before, how naturally this comes to us as if we have stepped off the weight of the world so many times to glide in the beauty of blue. i love your stories and the child in you finger painting on winter's cold windows. it seems life has placed us an ocean apart, yet gifted us the shared language of wings and believing. you are cherished all wrapped up in the folds of mine.

love you so

Continuum

A Continuum ~> continual sequence of ~> elemental change ~> By far this is the most difficult post written by myself, ever. I have not visited this place for sometime... I have been 'lying low' as an old friend used to put it, not low through depression or anything like that but since my love passed away parts of my known world have passed too. I have difficulty recognizing the landscape around me, I'm lying low so that I can absorb some of the new terrain. I am still quite dizzy, it's going to take some time... Much of what I wrote about here in this space would involve a brief glimpse of 'my love' and our life together. I had thought of closing 'Finding my Bliss', for a pivotal part of everything this blog has stood for seemed on the surface of things to be missing! But as the days have come and gone I am beginning to look at things in a different light and although I am grieving for my love I find I am l feeling his prese
