Speeding By ~>~>~>

In keen awareness
I'm savouring the moments
as seasons speed by ~>~>~>

My sister is twelve years older than me, she said a few years back
"you watch when you get to my age then time really does fly".
These words keep reverberating in my ears, it seems
no sooner the old year has passed than summer is
upon us then swiftly making her retreat!

The melancholy may last for a moment or two
'The Party's Over' tune dances in my head
for awhile, I allow this feeling it's place,
this experience, for I know this is
one of many in this beautiful
thing called life!

i've had a slight variation of the journey. always too keenly aware of time fleeting, and therefore rushing, anxiety at not getting enough done...
i've done so well to detach from this that i often forget how old i am exactly LOL

you're right...we seem to be thinking along the sames lines. Perhaps it's I have a bd in a couple of weeks, didn't I JUST turn a year older yesterday...and my daughter just bought a condo downtown, how can that be possible.

enjoy the moment!

'Tis an art to savour in the midst of speed. May its perfection shine in you!

I was having the same thoughts this week...enjoy every fleeting moment.
I love the flock of geese at the end of your poem (at least that's what I envisioned) ♥♥♥
What your sis said is so true! As I read your post I started humming December Song.

My brother is 50. I'm 14 years older. It is quite true about time flying. He has 15 years of working life ahead of him; I will be almost 80 when he retires. Time feels compressed and sometimes it DOES feel a bit melancholy.

This is amazing and so true. Time is fleeting.

It's good to stop and be in the moment, realizing time passes by quickly indeed. I love the melancholic tone to your post without it getting too sad... (fall can make me the same way - and yes, my age...)

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
