Joy of Joys

I have posted this art before, I'm posting it again!
because of the absolute
JOY
it brings me
whenever I look at it!
Yes it was digitally composed and yes,
because of the abundance of digital images
some would not consider it art or give it a second glance.
But this is one of my all-time favourite creations,
here is why I love it ~
I was at one, totally absorbed in the creation!

The intuitive feeling that the original image (a photo) would
 become something more, something other,
a layer of different meaning,
I didn't know what that meaning was
at the time but trusted that it would reveal itself to me,
and so it did after my random manipulations!
~
Looking down at my creation here is what I saw
~
I was one of the two birds, I had flown to a faraway
place now hovering over a sun-drenched coastline,
the sun reflecting beams of light into the air,
the other bird was a friend, a native,
who had risen to greet me.
Both of us are elated to share
the greeting and were viewing the wonderful land
and the promise of beautiful things to come.

The bird represents my online friends,
the coastline with sunbeams rising represents
the beautiful places I visit there virtually with my friends.
More than that it represents the dream I have
of visiting face to face one day.

So this image represents my dream,
it came up from my deepest Self,
that is why I love it.

Thank goodness it's Thursday,

beautiful Sue! and love the story with it too.

totally absorbed - THAT is the key. THAT is what makes it art.

Sue, this is a beautiful story you weave around your lovely creation. It is indeed ART! The light bouncing off the virtual coastline makes my heart soar.

The judge of what art is, is what your soul sees. I see the beautiful story you wove in colors and shapes. Absolutely most creative.

Ah, Sue, you have captured my thoughts completely. I don't know what I would do without the wide world opened to me through blogging. I have traveled places I would otherwise never have gone to. THAT brings me joy.

Morning has Broken

Yesterday the black dog came to visit me, the same black dog who  used to visit Winston Churchill. When my daughter came around, she could  see the black dog had turned up too and  that I was completely at his mercy. She made her leave with a simple kiss and goodbye,  "hope he goes soon", I nodded in agreement. For when he's around he completely  demands my attention and there's no shaking him loose! On retiring I sternly told the black dog I didn't understand the reason for his visit and that I thought I had sat with him for long enough  and to be gone in the morning! *** I've not seen him so far, this morning thank goodness !!! It is the beginning of a brand new day,  I am grateful for each day of my life...   I was at a funeral on Friday,  to say we'd anticipated a sad day all turned out most beautifully.... my favourite hymn was sung 'Morning has Broken' On this brand new day I'm sitting here tapping the k...

My Silken Altar

The reflective image below is one taken of my south facing window,  which is more like an altar to me because of the ever changing light that allows for embracing the moments of silent connection and praise. I take many photographs from this window as I marvel at the sun's energy  to illuminate or in this case reveal through shadows and reflections. This image has been sitting in my file for sometime, it has a hidden message for me that  I knew would one day surface...    Heart broken open by the mystery of you... love stitches together.  Gentle love rides pain like silken thread slips through jute spring balm for raw edge. Stitch with silken love the polarities of life  embrace the mystery... Sending to Rebecca for healing... Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
