Needy...

Our boy is scared ~
scared of bumps in the road,
rain pattering on the windows,
he's scared of his own shadow!

No matter how I try to cuddle him,
he's on full alert for any bad happening!

From time to time these tendencies show up in me too,
I don't know why but I feel vulnerable,
 I see monsters looming up,
I'm jumpy, even frightened
and definitely needy!

Needy seems to have bad connotations in this world,
like some dreaded disease to be avoided!
Yet aren't we all needy at some time or other?
'No man is an island' so they say,
we all need someone
sometimes.
Even if it's just a smile, a friendly face to say 'there there'.
This image sent through the post for a local exhibition
really soothed me in such a time of need,
I've had it for a while now, I think the artist
 really captured something special here!
All the little handmade figures
seem to be looking down saying
"we're here for you, you are not alone".

Much like my blogging buddies really!

my girl has 'odd' phobias... balloons, bouncy castles, generally blown up things...

we all are needy in our own ways. some of us just cover it up better. ;)

My daughter was afraid of wind and thunder. I told her it wad the angels racing in the clouds. She liked that.

Yes, we all are needy from time to time - and it is totally okay. My girl had some odd fears as well, I think it's just coping with the world around them, and sometimes it can be pretty scary out of the persepctive of a child (and even an adult).

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
