More Strange Sights up North

Holy Island's
Redundant Herring Fleet
 ~
 Boats turned up-side-down,
now making 'shabby chic' sheds.
Recycling has been going on
for ages here,
'make do and mend',
still smelling a bit 'fishy' though!

I was overjoyed at the sight
of these up-turned boats on the seashore,
they are relics from the past
adding enchantment to the island,
an atmosphere of ancient times still lingering on.

Oh I love them too! They are wonderful old boats. Why they are so weathered and worn. I cannot imagine how old they are! I adore the dog in the foreground. It just makes the photo. Great sightseeing Sue! You offer us so much history we would never have known about.

The sheds are wonderful -- quirky but practical. But the adorable pup really brings a spot of joy!

This is gorgeous, Sue. I love these beautiful sheds, even though they might be a bit "fishy". What a clever idea!

Don't Blink

What rate ticketh clock? I blinked and a whole year passed or, was I dreaming? Somehow I seemed to have lost a whole year, it appears what I thought happened last year happened the year before! My sister who is twelve years my senior warned me about this ~ "wait until you get to my age then time really does fly"! Of course we'll never be able to confer! Still, living in the moment can feel like forever, because it is, I'm trying to make each beautiful moment count! Sharing with Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
