Grateful for Cherished Moments

I am grateful on this day,
Wednesday, 15th December 2010,
for Cherished Moments
.
I'm writing about this before the thoughts escape me,
before they float off into the ether.

.

This morning much like any other morning started by seeing Charlotte off to work,
she's staying with us whilst her bathroom is being renovated,

Over the past three years she has
stayed with us on and off
since coming back from life in the big city, all battered and bruised.
She's been on her healing path ever since.

Lately life has taken a leap forward for her
after two years or so out of work,
after pulling herself up off of the ground,
after preparing and putting herself through rigorous interviews,
she landed herself the perfect job
 at the University of Derby!!!
and
She's met someone who is making her happy!!!

This morning I packed her off to work,
it was Christmas lunch day,
 I ironed her frilly blouse
thinking how lovely she was going to look,
she had no earrings to go with,
so I fetched her a pair of mine.
She looked gorgeous as she
walked through the door,
we kissed and hugged.

I wrote all of this down
because these are cherished moments.

We've been through
a very tough journey together
and
these are precious moments to savour,
to wrap in special delicate wrapping,
for these precious moments
I'm grateful.

Morning has Broken

Yesterday the black dog came to visit me, the same black dog who  used to visit Winston Churchill. When my daughter came around, she could  see the black dog had turned up too and  that I was completely at his mercy. She made her leave with a simple kiss and goodbye,  "hope he goes soon", I nodded in agreement. For when he's around he completely  demands my attention and there's no shaking him loose! On retiring I sternly told the black dog I didn't understand the reason for his visit and that I thought I had sat with him for long enough  and to be gone in the morning! *** I've not seen him so far, this morning thank goodness !!! It is the beginning of a brand new day,  I am grateful for each day of my life...   I was at a funeral on Friday,  to say we'd anticipated a sad day all turned out most beautifully.... my favourite hymn was sung 'Morning has Broken' On this brand new day I'm sitting here tapping the k...

What to Do?

Jamie Ridler asks in Wishcasting Wednesday - How would you like to spend some time? Good question for me at this time of year as I usually embark on some course or other for the winter months ahead, and as usual I'm not sure?  I go through  familiar questions, what do I really love and would like to spend time pursuing?  I've got qualifications in Fine Art and my heart is in photography, graphics, printmaking etc. But I'm torn because I'm also interested in Personal Development and have a yearning to share what I've learned so far with others in some way, especially on-line?  So what do I do? How do  I spend some time doing what I want to do, don't know, not sure but one thing I do know is that I need to spend more time puzzling it out? Or will it just come to me?  Do I spend more time meditating upon these ideas??? For other wishcaster wishes visit Jamie Ridler Studios
