Without hope, there would be no miracles. Your photo is grand. I can see it is not about the fish, although nif I were on that beach, I'd hope to land dinner before nightfall, or gather some driftwood and set a fire there. The flames would touch the sky.

sure looks like ice fishing to me...here in the land of lakes...and usually, snow and ice...breaking records of warmth, we are...very nice for dog walking :) your photo (and blog) are wonderful...and i read your reasons for joy too...congrats...i'm a 'follower' now..happy friday!

Such a deeply intimate scene despite the miles of land and water that surround these two figures. there is something about the act of fishing together or preparing to, the act of casting a line or a net that signifies hope. I am reminded of the wonderful film, A River Runs Through it, seemingly about Fly Fishing but truly about a family and so many loves and losses. You have created a visual poem here, really Sue. The figures are so small, they almost look like Japanese writing on the sand rather than people ~ as if they were trying to convey a message together.

Beautiful. Seeing the shore in an entirely different way and through the eyes of a bird. I may not like being in high places but I love being the eyes of a bird.

t'was just a sparkle peeping through the blacks and grey it filled my whole eye .... My daughter's car stands motionless on our drive, she is in hospital with severe stress symptoms. It has been a dark week, yesterday I noticed a sparkle reflecting off of her car through my window. She's been rattling up and down the motorway for the last year everyday to the job she loves and is fighting hard to keep. Haiku my Heart #49 ~ Numbers

 After yoga yesterday we discussed significant numbers, today being Friday 13th, unlucky for some they say! On the other hand the year 2012 is said to be an auspicious year, The Chinese Year of the Golden Dragon, taking place only once every 60 years .  It also happens to be a leap year so  that means the possibility of climbing my same old staircase an extra time this year! The number 300 is significant too  this being my  300th post!  whilst yesterday the 12th was my blog birthday 2 years! So what do these numbers all amount to? Can I count on them to calculate my life? Or are they just markers of time,  as illusory as my shadows? shadows behind me  light always falls to the front  illuminates now sending to  Postcards from Paradise Recuerda mi Corazon BTW this is my 49th Haiku  I'm sure this is a significant number! ;~) PS I'm really getting into this numbers thing,  apparently 7 is the perfe...
