I'll Never Forget ....

Mixed media art
in honour of the 'special ones'
gone before.

William my father, called me his little buddy,
loved by all for his wicked sense of humour,
his roguish ways, generous spirit,
not a day goes by that
I don't think about
his parting night,
the glint in
his eye said
 'I love you little buddy'.

Beautiful Alice my mother,
doting mother,
always there to say
 'there there'
 she loved Roses chocolates,
 ground coffee on Sunday
and totally in love
with my dad.

Eric special friend,
a big cuddly bear of a man,
aware of his spiritual need,
caring and comforting, always in my heart.
Must be with God
 he talked about him endlessly
and, his lovely wife Freda
remembered fondly

Joining in with friends, honouring those gone before ~

Hi Sue.
What a beautiful work of art you've made in memory of lost loved ones. The few words you've written about each one are so touching and say so much about them ~ beautiful words honoring beautiful people.
I became involved in this Day of the Dead celebration because I lost my dear brother last Fall. It has been so very helpful to me.
It is nice meeting you, Sue.

Each special tribute, so beautiful in your words and sentiment. The collage is beautiful and will remind you of your sitting down with your mom and dad and friends and thinking deeply about them every time you look at it.

Your tribute to family and friends is lovely.
Beautiful work of art honoring loved ones. Thank you for sharing your loved ones memories with us.
I just love your commemorative art piece, Sue. The colors are so incredibly vivid. I'm still in the early stages of "arthood" and wonder if you would e-mail me the details of how you created this? Also, are these acrylics, and if so, what colors or combos did you use? I also love the stories of those you remember. That's what I hope to begin tonight when I sit with my loved ones by the ofrenda.

Aww, Sue, this is one of the loveliest hommages to beloved passed souls I've ever seen. You inspire me to do something similar. God bless you. Annie
Sue; thanks for sharing your memories with the rest of us. I also enjoyed the photos below of the car in the drive way; but saddened to read of your daughters illness. Hopefully there are answers and results by this point in time?

Happy Haiku New Year

Bare winter branches bathed in mystical moonshine stirring some magic!

Hello and a Happy New Year to you and yours...

I feel like a stranger to this online space it being nearly two months since I last tapped the keys here. I've been living a kind of nomadic existence recently flitting between houses with the addition of my new little tin home that perches on a Welsh hillside overlooking the ocean. What with Christmas and New Year I have been sleeping in random beds! The acquisition of my tin home is something I have dreamed about for ages and now it has come to pass so I've been bathing in ocean magic....

Something else that has kept me creatively occupied lately is my regular postings on Instagram, I have taken to posting haiku and images there as a meditative practice which satisfies both my need to create and also to focus, I have set the intention to continue this practice for 2017 and also to research the subject, perhaps write about my findings here as I believe this art-…

Stepping out Sunday
though nation is mourning, we
put best foot forward...

Today before posting my daily haiku on Instagram I was shocked to learn of yet another terror attack in the capital city London, 7 slaughtered and 48 injured, this only days after the Manchester killings. At the very moment I was viewing this on-line a pigeon, in flight, slammed into my window causing me to feel a sudden fear, heightening the fear- feeling for those innocent people... Later the prime-minister Theresa May declared on a news bulletin that "enough is enough" and that new measures must be taken to counter this....  As she counted out four ways these measures must take place I was feeling a sense of frustration that no doubt countless millions of others must feel in the face of these senseless acts of violence. I was thinking what can I as one person do?
My small act of posting one image on Instagram with the above haiku seemed so insignificant and I felt the message of "stepping out r…

Snuggling up till spring...

Comfy and cosy
feeling all loved up in the
comfort of haiku...

Just a quick line this week but thought I'd mention 'Doris' the storm that hit our shores.  On our walk through the church yard this morning there was quite a bit of damage, mainly to the trees up-rooting one altogether so that's why my Jasper and me are snuggling up till spring...

Happy weekend all haiku lovers...
