What if, again ~ Spiritual Sunday #2

Synchronicity would have it
that my little eyelet explorations
(see previous here)
were manifesting at the same time
I happened across
a post about the
ensō

In Zen Buddhist painting,
ensō
(Japanese word meaning circle)
symbolizes a moment when
the mind is free to simply let the
 body/spirit create.

The ensō drawing or painting
is used for daily meditation practice.
It made sense,
this was happening
 in my moments of awarness,
I was co-creating with the ensō
my mark making was not paint, led or charcoal,
but the lens of my camera.
I am fully in the moment with my image making,
for this reason it has taken on
new meaning for me,
kind of spiritual
when using the symbolic ensō,
focusing through
'my little eyelet'.

The Spiral Way ~

The way of the mystic is not a linear path.  We do not slay dragons one after the other, proceeding in a clear chronological line towards fulfilment.

Neither is the mystic way a circle a despairing and closed circuit in which we return again and again to the same experiences.

Rather, the way of the mystic is the spiral way - circular, but with ever-changing vistas. On the spiral way, we may visit old scenes, grapple with old dragons.  But each time we return, we do so as different people and from a different place; the experience is not the same.  'I am here again, but I have never been here before.' The mystic may often say things like that on the spiral way.

Oh - instead of slaying old dragons, they just view them differently.

mindfulness in the art of seeing.
rise as if with new eyes in each new moment.
imagine....
loving as if for the first time.
i believe in this..
keeping our hearts connected to each present moment.
there is a purity here where clarity resides.

thank you for your beautiful reminder.
I love this idea of looking through a different lens, an eyelet and seeing the spectra differently. In conjunction the enso, how wonderful, this spiritual dimension to your sensory experiment that has taken it to new heights and also brought it into the interior life. When I look at what you are seeing through the eyelet or enso, I feel as if I am seeing some part of your consciousness not accessible to the external world -the unconscious in other words. It is quite fantastic. I had never thought of a camera lens in that way but the focus of the "enso" lens seems to evoke it. I also love the idea of revisiting something and seeing it in a completely new way, a sort of reframe that allows it not to be a dragon any longer but a mouse, no longer a challenge but an opportunity. Love Simon Parke. Here is a great poem.

Fresh

To move
Cleanly.
Needing to be
Nowhere else.
Wanting nothing
From any store.
To lift something
You already had
And set it down in
A new place.
Awakened eye
Seeing freshly.
What does that do to
The old blood moving through
Its channels?

Continuum

A Continuum ~> continual sequence of ~> elemental change ~> By far this is the most difficult post written by myself, ever. I have not visited this place for sometime... I have been 'lying low' as an old friend used to put it, not low through depression or anything like that but since my love passed away parts of my known world have passed too. I have difficulty recognizing the landscape around me, I'm lying low so that I can absorb some of the new terrain. I am still quite dizzy, it's going to take some time... Much of what I wrote about here in this space would involve a brief glimpse of 'my love' and our life together. I had thought of closing 'Finding my Bliss', for a pivotal part of everything this blog has stood for seemed on the surface of things to be missing! But as the days have come and gone I am beginning to look at things in a different light and although I am grieving for my love I find I am l feeling his prese
