Journey to Self

Today I found myself wondering again
about my artistic expression,
this happens periodically.
When I was younger I thought
art was art
you either like to draw, paint, sculpt etc.
end of story!
NO
beginning of story for me
beginning of journey
beginning of ongoing enquiry
!!!
Although I have always been creative,
it used to remain mostly in the areas of
design, technique.
I may have been subliminally conscious of something other,
something that separates it from the purely decorative,
but it hadn't dawned on me that
there was a difference!
That it was up to me to
discover what that difference was,
and why it mattered,
matters for me
!!!

Isn't it wonderful how our journeys deepen as we get older? We thought we had it all figured out when we were younger. Oh, how little we knew...

i love your unfolding.
so rich of blossom and full of depth....
so looking with in and with out,
and so perfectly generous to take us along.
I like the fact that you are taking a photograph and then becoming immersed in the very thing which you are photographing, so much so that you disappear altogether and become a butterfly upon a flower ~ the ultimate symbol of soul transformation in Jungian psychology. I think that you have expressed with beautiful intention the profound difference between the decorative and the truly creative endeavor. Lovely.

Haiku my Heart #42 - Shine on

t'was just a sparkle peeping through the blacks and grey it filled my whole eye .... My daughter's car stands motionless on our drive, she is in hospital with severe stress symptoms. It has been a dark week, yesterday I noticed a sparkle reflecting off of her car through my window. She's been rattling up and down the motorway for the last year everyday to the job she loves and is fighting hard to keep. The car had so many rattles, now fixed by my love, it's washed, polished and resting-up waiting for her return. For more haiku poetry Visit Recuerda mi Corazon

Hello

A friendly street light illuminates the dark path as does bright hellos! Just dropping in dears to say hello to all at Haiku my Heart, everyone in the haiku home, to say you are never far away from my thoughts those of you in the circle of friends in the birthplace of my ongoing love for small words with large meaning. Have a lovely weekend... love from foxysue Recuerda mi Corazon

Snuggling up till spring...

Comfy and cosy feeling all loved up in the comfort of haiku... Just a quick line this week but thought I'd mention 'Doris' the storm that hit our shores.  On our walk through the church yard this morning there was quite a bit of damage, mainly to the trees up-rooting one altogether so that's why my Jasper and me are snuggling up till spring... Happy weekend all haiku lovers... Haiku my Heart Recuerda mi Corazon
