The Light of Haiku

Nothing's black & white
all a matter of shading
as filtered by light...

I love a bit of black and white, clear cut lines of thought, no clutter, yes this is appealing to me at the moment!
Wanting to see my way clearly through the hazy outlines of reality, the grey shaded areas of dense not knowing!
I should have known life is not really like that at all but a multiplex of every shade imaginable!
What I need is the light of wisdom to discern!
To qualify the preceding! I'm feeling lost and overwhelmed by my current situation! I have put all of my eggs into one basket by concentrating my efforts on finding a new home for myself at the expense of my spiritual creative practice! Today I decided to take stock and bring myself here to the place where I know that losing myself in the moment with creative exploration will yield results which on this occasion was a black and white image based haiku.
Being in a place of not knowing can be scary and being human I've had the black and white mentality that when I'm settled in a new home everything will fall into place!  But in reality I know this is not the case and as for settled I know there is really no such thing! And so I am learning as I go....

Lovely Haiku! Yes, the "shadow places" are hard to move through - but they are messengers too. In meeting them they will bring wisdom too. You are an artist of a new pathway through life, and your canvas is all that you are feeling at this moment - those hazy, dense grey areas - AND the brilliance of your creative psyche to cut through them :) <3

I just love what Mystic Meandering has to say...and I so totally agree. It's so hard going through those shadows...but oh the lessons we learn.

Morning has Broken

Yesterday the black dog came to visit me, the same black dog who  used to visit Winston Churchill. When my daughter came around, she could  see the black dog had turned up too and  that I was completely at his mercy. She made her leave with a simple kiss and goodbye,  "hope he goes soon", I nodded in agreement. For when he's around he completely  demands my attention and there's no shaking him loose! On retiring I sternly told the black dog I didn't understand the reason for his visit and that I thought I had sat with him for long enough  and to be gone in the morning! *** I've not seen him so far, this morning thank goodness !!! It is the beginning of a brand new day,  I am grateful for each day of my life...   I was at a funeral on Friday,  to say we'd anticipated a sad day all turned out most beautifully.... my favourite hymn was sung 'Morning has Broken' On this brand new day I'm sitting here tapping the k...

What to Do?

Jamie Ridler asks in Wishcasting Wednesday - How would you like to spend some time? Good question for me at this time of year as I usually embark on some course or other for the winter months ahead, and as usual I'm not sure?  I go through  familiar questions, what do I really love and would like to spend time pursuing?  I've got qualifications in Fine Art and my heart is in photography, graphics, printmaking etc. But I'm torn because I'm also interested in Personal Development and have a yearning to share what I've learned so far with others in some way, especially on-line?  So what do I do? How do  I spend some time doing what I want to do, don't know, not sure but one thing I do know is that I need to spend more time puzzling it out? Or will it just come to me?  Do I spend more time meditating upon these ideas??? For other wishcaster wishes visit Jamie Ridler Studios
