More tea vicar....?

I've been reading, it's been a while
since I picked up a spiritual book,
but felt the need to do so,
as I do
from time to time.
I'm a take the essence
of the content if it resonates kind of person,
rather than set in stone absolutes.

Once on my journey I opted for the whole story
which led me to spiritual shipwreck when their
absolutes were at odds with my truth.
This was a most painful experience.
That was a longtime ago, lessons have been learnt,
so I look for the essence, today I have been
reading about the impermanence of all things
this being a fundamental base
for Buddhist teaching.

I'm not about to become a Buddhist, as I say
I look for the essence, the wisdom,
not the complete way.

Thinking about impermanence though,
I wonder why it is, given that the nature of all things
is subject to change, why are we so resistant?

Our nature is one of habit,
habitual behaviour, so hard to break?

My morning ritual is tea and more tea,
yet I want to drink less, to change,
to drink more health drinks,
nettle and lemon tea, rooibos tea, which I love too,
but my habit persists, I return to the familiar,
the tea, the toast, the talk.........
just wondering......

To effect change is it a gradual lessening, or
quickfire jump out of the loop, or
even banishing the loop
altogether?
What do you think?

one morning, a baptism by fire, the next? it is enough for thoughtful reflection. what is important is the willingness to see change as a bright path, and to embrace the shadows that will also fall heavy on our open palms.

lovely post from a shining heart.

breaking habits that no longer nourish body or soul seems a worthwhile thing to do.
but we are also ritualistic creatures. even animals have their set ways.

tea and toast - it sets me for the day. nothing simpler.
i tried the muesli, the fruit, the healthier drinks. but realised there was a ritual element to my preferred fast break, and it nourished my soul.

let lunch feel responsible.

Continuum

A Continuum ~> continual sequence of ~> elemental change ~> By far this is the most difficult post written by myself, ever. I have not visited this place for sometime... I have been 'lying low' as an old friend used to put it, not low through depression or anything like that but since my love passed away parts of my known world have passed too. I have difficulty recognizing the landscape around me, I'm lying low so that I can absorb some of the new terrain. I am still quite dizzy, it's going to take some time... Much of what I wrote about here in this space would involve a brief glimpse of 'my love' and our life together. I had thought of closing 'Finding my Bliss', for a pivotal part of everything this blog has stood for seemed on the surface of things to be missing! But as the days have come and gone I am beginning to look at things in a different light and although I am grieving for my love I find I am l feeling his prese
